Srijit Mukherji has wrapped up the shooting of his third thriller film titled ‘Dwitiyo Purush’ which stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Raima Sen in the lead roles. Raima Sen, who is also debuting in Tamil film industry, hopes Dwitiyo Purush to entertain the audience to the fullest. 

Talking about the film, Raima said, “Baishe Srabon changed the way thrillers were perceived by the Bengali audience and I’m sure Dwitiyo Purush will have a similar effect on the audience. Srijit is a master when it comes to thrillers.”


Dwitiyo Purush will be a sequel to his 2011hit film ‘Baishe Srabon’, which starred Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, Abir Chatterjee and director Gautam Ghosh.

According to reports, the story of Dwitiyo Purush will start from where Baishe Srabon had left off. The film will see Parambrata Chatterjee reprise the role of chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi and Raima Sen will be essaying her character of Amrita.


Baishe Srabon story revolved two journalists and two police officers (one suspended) chasing a vengeful Kolkata psychopath, who leaves behind couplets from Bengali poems. Baishe Srabon received positive reviews from critics, and was one of the highest-grossing Bengali films of 2011. The film received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification for adult language.

On the other hand, Raima is all set to make her Tamil debut with Agni Siragugal. The star cast also includes Vijay Antony, Akshara Haasan, J Sathish Kumar, and Prakash Raj.
